Oral contraceptives or pills are hormonal contraceptives taken by mouth. There are two groups:
Combined oral contraceptives (COCs);
Micro progestin pills (PMP).
Combined oral contraceptives (COCs)
These are birth control pills that contain two types of female hormones estrogen and progesterone.

These are birth control pills made from the single female hormone progesterone.
The main advantages of micro progestogen pills (PMP):
- Very effective if taken correctly every day and at the same time;
- Used in case of contraindication to estrogen;
- Reduce dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain);
- Regulate the menstrual cycle;
- Decrease the volume of periods and prevent the risk of anemia;
- Return to normal fertility after stopping taking the pill;
