If an overpowering desire to scratch a cluster of mosquito bites is causing you to miss out on your summer activities, there are a variety of treatments and home cures you may try to alleviate your itching.
WHY DO I ALWAYS GET BIT BY MOSQUITOES?
Do you attract mosquitos? Do you ever wonder why you keep being bitten by mosquitos? Here are five reasons why you attract mosquitos:
- Type O Blood: Mosquitoes are particularly drawn to type O blood. Type A blood attracts them the least.
- Athlete: Exercising produces lactic acid and raises body warmth, which attracts mosquitos.
- Pregnant women: Pregnant women exhale 21% more carbon dioxide than non-pregnant women, which mosquitoes love.
- Faster Metabolism: Mosquitoes are drawn to those who can swiftly digest cholesterol.
- Adults and larger people: They produce more carbon dioxide and have a higher body temperature.

- Oatmeal
One of your favorite breakfasts could also be a remedy for a bothersome mosquito bite. Because it contains anti-irritant compounds, oatmeal can help relieve itching and swelling.
To make an oatmeal paste, combine equal parts oatmeal and water in a mixing bowl until you have a spackle-like consistency. Spoon some paste onto a washcloth and place it on the irritated skin, paste-side down, for about 10 minutes. Then clean the area with a damp cloth.
Instead, if you have a lot of bites, take an oatmeal bath. In a bathtub filled with warm water, pour 1 cup of oatmeal or crushed oats. Soak in the oatmeal bath for 20 minutes, occasionally massaging irritated areas of your skin with some of the clumped oatmeal.

2. Honey
Honey is an excellent natural home remedy for a variety of ailments. Honey has been a popular natural home remedy for over a century, used to treat everything from sore throats to acne to bruises. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are found in honey. To stop mosquito bites from itching, simply apply honey to the affected area.

3. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is a natural antiseptic, so it’s perfect for reducing swelling and itching. Aloe vera also aids in the faster healing of mosquito bites. Aloe vera gel or natural aloe vera can be used. To ensure that the aloe vera gel is cold, we recommend refrigerating it for 10 minutes. Then apply the chilled aloe directly to the affected area.

4. Crushed Ice
Inflammation can be reduced by using cold temperatures and ice. The cold also numbs the skin, providing immediate but temporary relief. To relieve the itching caused by a mosquito bite, the Mayo Clinic recommends using a cold pack or a bag filled with crushed ice.
If you leave the ice on your bite for more than five minutes, it can cause skin damage. You can also use a barrier between your skin and the ice, such as a washcloth, to keep the ice on the bite for longer.

5. Baking Soda
Baking soda is a versatile ingredient that can be used for everything from baking bread to cleaning drains. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, can help you get rid of mosquito bites.
Baking soda paste is simple to make and can be used in the same way as oatmeal paste. To make a paste, combine 1 tablespoon baking soda with just enough water. Apply it to the bug bite and leave it on for ten minutes before rinsing it off. Stop using this treatment if your skin becomes irritated.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has long been used as a natural home remedy for a variety of ailments. It can aid in the relief of both burning and itching. Make sure you get the mother with the apple cider vinegar. Simply dab a small amount of apple cider vinegar onto the mosquito bite. You can take a bath with apple cider vinegar and water if you need more relief or have multiple bug bites.

7. Onion
Onions can bring tears to your eyes as well as provide relief from mosquito bites. The onion juices that leak out of the freshly cut bulb can help to relieve the sting and irritation of the bite. Onions also have a natural antifungal property that can help you avoid getting sick.
Cut a piece of onion — any kind would do — and place it immediately on the bite for several minutes. After removing the onion, thoroughly rinse and cleanse the area.

8. Basil
The aromatic basil plant is a crucial component in many Italian dishes, but it may also be used to treat mosquito bites. According to studies, a chemical component present in basil called eugenol may help to alleviate irritated skin.
Boil 2 cups of water and add half an ounce of dried basil leaves to produce a basil rub. Allow the mixture to steep until it is completely cold. Then gently massage your mosquito bites with a washcloth dipped in the liquid. Alternatively, you may finely cut some fresh basil leaves and apply them on your skin.
